Who we are

Complaia is a pre-launch project based in Copenhagen Ø, Denmark, building a future AI compliance platform for businesses. For the purposes of this website, Complaia is the data controller responsible for the personal data described below.

What personal data we collect

This website collects personal data only when you actively submit one of the forms on it. We do not collect personal data passively through cookies, analytics or tracking technologies — see our Cookie Policy for details.

When you sign up through one of our forms, we collect:

• Email address — required, so we can contact you about what you signed up for.
• First name — optional, used only to personalise our communication with you.

Why we collect it

The website currently offers two separate sign-ups:

• Platform waitlist — for people who want to be notified when the Complaia platform launches.
• Guide waitlist — for people who want to be notified when the Complaia transparency guide is ready.

These are kept as separate, independent sign-ups. Joining one does not automatically add you to the other, and you can join either or both.

Each form also has a separate, optional marketing consent checkbox, which is never pre-selected. If you tick it, we may also use your email address to send you occasional emails from Complaia about AI compliance news, product updates, guides and other relevant content. If you don't tick it, we will only contact you about what you specifically signed up for.

In summary, we process your data to: fulfil the specific request you made (waitlist notification or guide delivery), and — only with your separate, explicit consent — send you marketing communications.

How marketing consent works

Marketing consent is always optional, always unchecked by default, and always stored separately from the reason you signed up. Ticking the marketing checkbox on either form adds you to our marketing list; leaving it unticked does not affect your waitlist or guide sign-up in any way. You can withdraw marketing consent at any time — see “Your rights” below.

Service providers we use

We use Brevo(Sendinblue SAS), an email marketing and contact management platform, to store sign-up contacts and send communications. Brevo acts as our data processor for this purpose. Brevo is a French company; where it processes data outside the EU/EEA, it does so under its own safeguards (such as standard contractual clauses) — see Brevo's own privacy policy for details of its processing.

When someone signs up through either form, we also send ourselves an internal notification email (via Brevo) to hello@complaia.dk so we're aware of new sign-ups. This notification contains the same information stored in Brevo (email, first name if provided, and whether marketing consent was given).

We do not sell, rent or share your personal data with any other third party.

How long we keep your data

We keep your contact information for as long as necessary to fulfil the purpose it was collected for — for example, until the Complaia platform launches and the waitlist has served its purpose, until the guide has been sent, or until you ask us to delete your data or withdraw consent, whichever comes first. We periodically review the data we hold and remove data that is no longer needed.

Your rights

Under the GDPR, you have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Correct inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your data
• Restrict or object to certain processing
• Receive your data in a portable format
• Withdraw consent at any time, without affecting processing carried out before you withdrew it

To exercise any of these rights, or to withdraw marketing consent, contact us at hello@complaia.dk. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Danish Data Protection Agency (Datatilsynet) at datatilsynet.dk.

Changes to this policy

As Complaia develops — including as the platform and guide launch — this policy may be updated to reflect new processing activities. We'll update the date at the top of this page when we do.
